I tried all the tricks suggested, I even went thru' the hassle of refreshing FF but nothing works. Please stop releasing buggy updates - I've had a problem with every single one. The only way I can bookmark favorites now is to copy the address into a notebook txt file - very sloppy & unsatisfactory. I updated to the new version but it didn't do anything, I couldn't move off the home page. So I then uninstalled it & reinstalled the old one but the new bookmarks disaster was still there. NO STAR - how are we supposed to bookmark favorites? Running 64 bit W7 - no 64 bit FF will work, I must use 32 bit FF.

I solved the NO BOOKMARK STAR problem. The problem was caused by 64 bit FF not working on my 64 bit W7 & just an Uninstall & 32-bit Reinstall didn't fix it. When you uninstall the 64 bit FF 57.0 there are still files left behind that prevent the new 32 bit install from working properly, you must first delete everything in the the Mozilla folder, run CC Cleaner or a similar registry cleaner & only then can you safely re-install the 32 bit version. It appeared to be files left behind in a folder labeled "tobedeleted" that caused it & this brought back the favorites star allowing me to bookmark sites again. Previously nothing would bring back the star & all the fixes assume the star is there but not working properly. I'm loving the new FF so far, I hope this ver allows me to view ALL the videos on sites such as Facebook & see the Re-Captchas & "I'm not a Robot" so I don't have to switch to IE or Chrome to see them.

The Bookmarks Menu button was kind of replaced to make room for the Library button, but it can still be added using the Customize option. See the instructions in Bookmarks in Firefox for more info.

Thanks for reporting back. I haven't heard of that folder before!

After I uninstalled the problematic 32-bit FF I checked the 'Program Files (x86)' folder & in the Mozilla Firefox folder I found an empty plug ins folder & that strange tobedeleted folder that contained 23 files such as - nsc29F6.tmp, nsn2937.tmp, nsi29C1.tmp, nsx29D4.tmp, nss29AF.tmp ..... etc. I don't know why these tmp files were causing the problem but after I deleted that folder, ran CC Cleaner & re-installed the 32-bit FF I had the favorites star back again, the toolbar had changed (for the better) & FF seems to be working very well.
