Thunderbird sending to wrong address

I am using Thunderbird 52.2.1 and connecting via imap/smtp to yahoo mail. A friend of mine changed his email address about a year ago. Since then I can send new mail to him and it goes fine; but, if I reply to an email or there are multiple To's in the email - it tries to go to the old email address and bounces. I have checked the address books and the old address isn't in there at all. When I look in the Sent folder the emails that bounce are there with the correct email.

Any ideas?

Check the sender address of the message you received. Presumably it's already wrong in the original message. If that's the case, notify your friend to fix this.
