Howto override system plugin directory yo use <user>/.mozilla/plugins?

The (multi-user) system I work on has an old version of Firefox installed, so I run my own from $HOME/bin.

My problem is with trying to use the newest Flash plugin. After installing it to $HOME/.mozilla/plugins, Firefox still chooses the out-of-date system version.

In about:plugins I have Path: /usr/lib/adobe-flashplugin/libflashplayer.so,$HOME/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so

It knows the plugin is installed, but the insecure system version is preferentially loaded instead (with a warning about it being out-of-date).

How do I change the plugin path search order (to what it was in the past ... $HOME/.mozilla/plugins being first in the list)?

Steve

I've called the big guys to help you. Good luck.

You can try to create a plugins folder in the current profile folder and place the plugin or a symlink in this directory.
