I have 13 plugin-container.exe showing up on windows task mgr. Why?

Just wondering why so many taking up room on my hard drive. I never noticed it before today. I was downloading a page with .jpg files on it when my hard drive started to run away. Everything froze. It then went back to my original page and allowed me to open Windows Task Manager where I counted up all the plugin-container.exe file.
