I am using a jpg image for a hyperlink; Firefox only links on the very left edge of the image; IE links on the entire image; what gives?

I am using a jpg image for a hyperlink on a web page; using Firefox the link is only active when the cursor rolls over the very left edge of the image, whereas using IE the link is active over the entire image. have tried just about everything without success
