I'm trying to download Firefox on a new computer. It downloaded the install program at least 6 times in about an hour, but it never finishes downloading. How can I avoid this and get it to actually download Firefox?

I have been using Firefox Quantum 57. 0.4 64 bit for Linux Mint 1.0 will I be able to use Firefox 113.0.2 and is there anything I need to do after downloading it. I am computer illiterate, any help will be greatly appreciated.

I will be moving all of my data to a new laptop and want to know if I need to have both my personal Firefox profile and the "default-release" profile backed up. The "default" one is over 3GB and has over 20k files in it, and my personal one is only 113 MB with 1300 files — and my thumb drive needs all the extra space it can get. (Why would the "default-release" profile be so much larger than my personal one?)

The old laptop runs on Windows and the new one will have the Linux OS. Will that make a difference in using a backed up Firefox profile? I mean, will the data still work in the new OS?

I accidentally double clicked on "Downloads" after accessing the "Tools" menu so all of my downloads in the "Downloads list" is now gone... :(

I know that the actual files aren't deleted but I can no longer see the location of the files I've recently downloaded :( :(

Each and every time you install an upgrade on Firefox, your profile vanishes. So I questioned on how to save my profile and I found a nasty solution where you have to close Firefox because of a stupid empty file named parent.lock which happen to be empty on the 2 cases I checked. I did not sniff in the restore constraints yet... What a mess ! Looking at the frequency the Firefox's upgrade arrives, it would be advisable to automatically preserve the user's parameters. Alternately it would be a good thing to have a save/restore function for Firefox's parameter.

My problems with FireFox 113.0.2 started when I began to download some Affinity V2 videos. Some of these were rather large (over 500MB) and I noticed that several were being downloaded at the same time (which was no surprise). However, after sometime I noticed that only one of the videos was completely downloaded and the others were just stopped. Then, when I looked at the task manager the number of FireFox instances was increasing: ...,5,6,...18,..

Of course, I thought I could fix the download process but all my efforts failed; e.g. after a restart of windows and execution of FireFox the same videos were still in a "hold" state and many instances of FireFox were being executed. After a frustating night of failures I finally decided to restore an older FireFox using my Acronis backup/recovery software. My last Aronis backup of my entire system was made on 2023/04/07 with the most recent version of FireFox at the time which worked fine when downloading several large video files at the same time.

I only included the C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox' in the restore since I have installed a rather large number of new apps and updates after 2023/04/07. This also failed -- my add-ons, bookmarks, etc. in this restored version were all missing and before I could stop the recovery process, the restored FireFox was updated to the latest as of today (2023/06/01). And of course the problem had not be fixed.

So finally to my request: What directories, files do I need to restore, from the 2023/04/27 backup with all of its features at that time -- this is important, and how do I stop it from upgrading to a newer version?

The download is that I am always movies on the transfer to a good comedy and show us movies because of the news , e-mailed, browser Firefox Android.install and migrate etc

My e-mail address changed, but the old one keeps popping up. I need to ELIMINATE the old one and use ONLY the new one. I've told various organizations, businesses, etc., to make the change. I want Mozilla Firefox to ELIMINATE the old one and use ONLY the new one. Help!

I've installed a new version of Ubuntu Linux and - as recommended on this page's FAQs - backed up my firefox profile, than copied it into the profile folder on the new os. Now Firefox tells me "You've launched an older version of firefox" and forces me to create a new profile :( Also loading the old profile in "about:profiles" leads to the same result

How can i restore at least my passwords? (When i try to copy only 4.db and logins.json from the old to the new profile, i get the same result)

I can't find an "import old profile"-function anywhere...

Hello, I am still using windows 8.1 64bit & refuse windows 10, due to high risk privacy, yes predictable hollow words are said, BUT is Microsoft, a greedy un-scrupled money making, money hungry corporate entity, wants us to willing give it our private details voluntarily or under thin layer of extortion.

Hence my sticking to windows 8.1 as I have certain control, mainly updates.

Will Mozilla browsers be specifically supporting older operating systems like windows 8.1 into the coming years, not just months, e.g. until January 2023

Yes is a blunt question, but is eluded against in other responses, maybe is Microsoft buy out to sacrifice mozilla loyal users or similar, same query is for Brave browser. Mozilla I think is last Bastian for decency & morality, a leader in justice & honour.

my computer crashed yesterday because my ssd of my computer broke, therefore i had to reinstall firefox. Having done so and looging in, i cannot find my bookmarks, passowords, history, etc. I am sure i had my account always synced.

i would appricate your help.

i am using a loaner laptop right now while i wait for my main laptop to be returned to me. i need my bookmarks so i downloaded the browser & went to log in. i can't find my password & apparently to reset it i lose all my bookmarks which is the ONE THING i need from firefox right now. i am fully logged into firefox on that other laptop (tho who knows now that i tried logging in on my new device). i can't risk losing all my bookmarks. i need some help here, but i couldn't even get help without creating a NEW firefox account. can someone send me a support email to reach out to?
