After reboot, firefox starts slow, has unresponsive script, and becomes continually unresponsive.
Hi Everyone, I have a real jiffy.
My firefox has always worked fine before, but I had to do a factor reset on my laptop and now there is a serious problem.
After installing, firefox works fine, but after a computer reboot, it hangs, becomes responsive and always has this message after 2-3 mins "unresponsive script script:chrome://browser/content/tabbrowser.xml.2425" Either pressing continue or stop script does not stop its unresponsiveness
This problem occurs in both Firefox and Windows safe mode. I have no add ons installed, and I also scanned for any malware and there are none. I have tried clean re-install to no avail.
Any help much appreciated!

This occurs viewing the built-in Firefox home page and no other sites?
To rule out Flash as a potential culprit, could you try one or both of the following:
(1) Disable the Protected Mode feature of the Flash Player plugin.
The following pages provide different ways to do that:

Flash needs to completely unload from memory (restarting Firefox might help) before this would take effect.
(2) Set Flash to Click-to-Play ("Ask to Activate").
This will delay Flash from starting on a page until you approve it, which will help distinguish Flash-generated issues from page load and layout issues.
To set "Ask to Activate", open the Add-ons page using either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a
- orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. Look for "Shockwave Flash" and change "Always Activate" to "Ask to Activate".
When you visit a site that wants to use the Flash, you should see a notification icon in the address bar and one of the following: a link in a black rectangle in the page or an infobar sliding down between the toolbar area and the page.

Does this also happen if you wait a few minutes after booting before starting Firefox?
It is possible that the internet connection hasn't been set up.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem

Yes I tried launching FF a few mins after booting finished and still same problem.

yeah I did, it was a little different since after around 5 minutes FF did become responsive, but only for a min or so.
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if this helps.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox (you need to close and restart Firefox).
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

My firefox would freeze even on the home page, but I tried jscher's suggestion. I first uninstalled flash and see if it solved the problem and it did, and now I made it so that flash only activates when asked to... I tried with a video and after reboot FF still worked.
