Note: v55 has been giving users problems. Reinstall v54.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-older-version-of-firefox?cache=no Be sure to read everything here.

If you still want to downgrade, look under; I still want to downgrade. Click the Directory of other versions and languages link. Look for the directory of the version that you want. But, remember that old versions may have security issues.

You should also check out Firefox; Extended Support Release {web link} ESR Notes System Requirements

Well,

i tried both the 32 bit version (your link) and the 64 bit version of the 54 and they both do the same crash quickly....

32 bit had no log but the 64 bit showed this in the application log.....

I called for more help.

As the warning in the Install an older version of Firefox article says, be sure to create and use a new profile for 54 only since you may run into other issues and mess up your current profile after downgrading from 55 to 54 (in case 55 ever worked properly, that is).

I would also uninstall AVG entirely and reboot.

And of course, you did not mention any security/firewall software, but I would also uninstall that and reboot.

You can always reinstall these products afterwards when Firefox works and you think they are needed.

This all started happening ever since i put in the new windows creaters update for version 10 before this i had no issues at all, since then i cleaned up all the update version and data and storage and can not go back unless i do a fresh clean start on windows 10....

That is useful info. I dare to say that Microsoft has been acting terribly lately by issuing OS updates that break functionality for several applications, not limited to Firefox. You are not the first to report issues on this forum and elsewhere after Creators or Anniverary updates, and even Microsoft’s forums don’t always offer solutions.

However, if you have AdwCleaner installed, have a look at this question that also involves Firefox failing to start up after the Creators update. The Bitdefender add-on has been reported to cause issues too.

If you happen to use Comodo a product, the issue may be caused by that - see this article for more info. However, as you seem to be running the 64-bit version of Firefox, that should not apply, but make sure it is up to date anyway.

If none of these suggestions help, think of any other (security) software that affects connectivity, disable it and reboot, or even uninstall it temporary (and reboot) as a test, as suggested. My guess is the Creators update doesn’t really get along well with some of these products, or at least requires them to be updated or reinstalled.

Well its been 5 months now i still can not use firefox on my laptop and I tried everything, no crash logs, no application crash logs, scanned with antispyware and anti virus, no other browser has a problem with this hp laptop windows 10 latest version. I uninstalled, ran it on safe mode, reinstall older version and now the latest version turned on sync and turned on it seems like nothing is helping. I removed all the mozilla info and reinstalled and still the same issue? anybody want a crack at getting my mozilla working again?
