how to set firefox to auto clear cashe at closing

more options

Prior to having to create a new account on firefox I was able to set options to clear the cashe at closing. There's no option for this now. Was this due to an update? Is there another way to set this up?

Don't know if this has anything to do with it but I'd had to wipe my hard drive due to having an invasive program/virus. That issue was taken care of but for some reason Firefox would not acknowledge my password so I had to create a new one. Tryed to open firefox with the new password but it no longer had my settings or add ons or anything thus I'm putting everything back on.

The option to clear certain kinds of history at shutdown is still available, but you need to select the custom settings option to find it:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options

In the left column, click Privacy. Then on the right side, change to

"Firefox will: Use custom settings for history"

That will reveal the detailed settings.

It sounds as though you are already familiar with the various categories of history covered by that feature -- when you click the Settings button to the right -- but if in doubt, feel free to ask so you don't clear the wrong thing(s).
