I have older Eudora emails exported to an expansion drive that I would like to move into my new Thunderbird email program. Thunderbird only seems to have imported files from my isp email account and not from my most current Outlook account and does not seem to allow me to browse to find files I wish to import. Does anyone know how I can go about this?

Thanks

Your starting with the wrong idea. Outlook mail is imported from outlook, not a file. So the conversation occurs between Thunderbird and Outlook. PST files that are not loaded into Outlook are not imported. So include the files in outlook.

Thanks Matt for taking the time to reply, unfortunately part of my issue is that Outlook will not import the Eudora email files and so I can't do as you suggest. I have discovered though since posting that I can browse and view my emails on my expansion drive in Thunderbird, I just don't seem to be able to move them over into the Thunderbird files. Perhaps this is the best I can do, if so I will work with it.

Cheers and thanks

You can not browse. End of Story.,

If you want to import Eudora you have to have Eudora installed or create a registry entry as discussed here http://bahut.alma.ch/2007/09/importing-eudora-address-books-into_10.html

There has been an open bug for selecting a file since 2008. But as Eudora as a client has been dead for years it is unlikely anyone will ever fix it. See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395808

I have tried to stir a little life into the bug. Will see if anyone speaks up.
