How do I open .jsp files on my windows 7 PC?

more options

From this page http://www.law.com/jsp/ca/LawDecisionCA.jsp?id=1202576881362&Sees_Candy_Shops_Inc_v_Superior_Court_Silva I click the "Print" icon on the page, which, in Internet Explorer, brings up a separate window with no ads from which I can print the document. NOT a pdf document. Here, the address of that separate window is http://www.law.com/jsp/ca/LawDecisionFriendlyCA.jsp?id=1202576881362. Problem is - the window is BLANK. Is there a missing add on or extension?

I get a blank printable page on both IE8 and Fx16. I suspect that's because I'm not logged in. Since you only get that on Firefox, I wonder whether the site is having trouble with your session cookie in Firefox?

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache

Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.

(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:

orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")

(2) Remove your law.com cookies (save any pending work first) using either of these. While viewing a page on the site:

  • right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

Unfortunately, this was not successful. It is a site into which one must log in.

A standard diagnostic to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings) is to try Firefox's Safe Mode.

First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)

Next, restart Firefox in Firefox's Safe Mode (Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode) using

Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode."

If the site works correctly, this points to one of your extensions or custom settings as the problem.

To also disable plugins, you can use this screen:

orange Firefox button or classic Tools menu > Add-ons > Plugins category

Any change?

Nope. Does not work in Safe Mode.

Did this printable page feature used to work in an earlier version of Firefox and stopped working recently (e.g., after an update), or as far as you know, has it never worked in Firefox?

Can't say as I just started using Firefox recently.

I think it's worth asking Law.com support, since I suspect you won't find too many people with a premium subscription volunteering here who can give it a hands-on test.
