With Internet Explorer, a person can use the Send To command to send a website to the desktop to create a shortcut. Can this be done with Firefox?

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Creating_a_desktop_shortcut_to_a_webpage

You can drag the favicon on the left end of the location bar onto the desktop to create a shortcut.

You can also use an extension.
