On Firefox version 29.01 the extra dropdown on the right hand side doesn`t show "bookmark this page" like the bookmarks dropdown on the left.

On Firefox version 29.01 the extra dropdown on the right hand side doesn`t show "bookmark this page" like the bookmarks dropdown on the left.

Chosen solution

You can click the star that shows in the third screenshot to bookmark the current page, so there is no need to have this item in the drop-down list of the folder button next to it. This will highlight the star blue to indicate that the current URL is bookmarked. You can click the blue highlighted star another time to get the "Edit this Bookmark" dialog if you want a move the bookmark to a different folder (the default is the Unsorted folder).

Note that in current Firefox releases the "Bookmark This Page" menu entry in the Bookmarks menu changes to "Edit This Bookmark" once you have bookmarked the page and the star on the Navigation Toolbar is highlighted blue. So do not get confused by the missing "Bookmark This Page" in the Bookmarks menu and seeing "Edit This Bookmark" instead if you try to bookmarks a page that is already bookmarked.

Hmm... I'm not quite sure what you mean by "drop down on the left/right". Would you please clarify or post a screenshot?

Thanks so much!

In my pictures attached, you`ll see bookmarks on the left of Firefox when i click on bookmarks at the top, and under 'show all bookmarks' is "bookmark this page". On the right when i click on the icon (probably a book) in between the star and the down arrow it shows all bookmarks like the bookmarks on the left side of Firefox, but doesn`t show "bookmark this page".
