4.0 becomes unresponsive within 15 seconds. I can't type click or close it without task manager. I have to open a second one at the same time to be able to browse. help

I am running win7 home 64 bit. I just "upgraded" from 3.6 to 4.0 and your browser has been acting very weird. When I open the browser it loads everything fine if not slow, but after 15 seconds the color from the top grays out and everything becomes unusable.

I can't type, click, or interact with the browser in any way. I have to open up task manager to close it. Task manager says it's running but it's completely unusable. Happens every time I open the browser. 

If I right click on the icon on the bottom bar and choose mozilla firefox it opens a second browser which works fine.

This is super annoying and I'd like to know why/how to fix it please.
