Read Receipts Trouble

Hello, I've been trying and testing to get Read Receipts for a good 2 hours now, but nothing seems to work. I've tried with my Work mail that's on a host, then I tried with a Gmail inside Thunderbird and lastly with an Outlook mail. Nothing seems to work, I have also tried every configuration possible for the read receipts. I've tested every mail pointed above in the following way: Sent an e-mail to me or someone else, check that the message that asks for the read receipt to the receiver is there (it is) pick the option to confirm to the sender that I have received the message, but the confirmation never arrives. Any help is useful at this point.
