Thunderbird is my default email program and if I receive an email containing an email link of the form Fred.Bloggs@example.com I can click the link and Thunderbird opens a new message to Fred Bloggs. Today I received an email with the following link: email:customerservices@zen.co.uk. When I clicked it a little dialogue popped up asking me which program I wanted to use to open the link. I browsed to Thunderbird and selected it, but when I clicked OK nothing happened. Why isn't Thunderbird automatically handling all email traffic? What settings do I have to make sure that links of this form will be handled properly in future? Why wouldn't the system be told to use Thunderbird?

I NEVER want to mark all my email as read. How can I disable that functionality? I look forward to being able to also get rid of shortcuts that do not require ctrl, alt, or shift.

When I delete a message from the message list (not the first one), the next email selected is the first one in the list. This is a change in behavior - it used to the the one following the position of the deleted the email would be selected.
