why is my email being sent to IBM Trusteer Support? I am using Thunderbird V128.8.0esr (32-bit) and Windows 10 Edition Windows 10 Home Version 22H2 Installed on ‎2020-‎06-‎10 OS build 19045.5487 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19061.1000.0 When I return mail to person, it also goes to IBM Trusteer Support <user.support@trusteer.ibm.com>. Can you tell me why?

I can no longer move emails to the folder of my choice. If I drag and drop an email into a folder it never goes there, sometimes it does nothing, sometimes the email disappears like it moved but it never ends up in the folder I drop it into, I search all the folders I have created and the email I moved is GONE! I look in the "Trash" bins I can find and the email is GONE!

Version 128.8.0esr (64-bit) I tried too update the version that is an exercise in confusion.

Side note, the only way to copy and paste the version number is using the keyboard, if you highlight the text in ABOUT, right click it does nothing! No popup window giving you the option to copy. First time in 30 years I have seen this problem.

i am getting the following error message from my desk top cpu, i can send emails from my ipad. error occurred while sending mail. Outgoing server SMTP error. The server responded: smtp15.relay.ord1d.emailsrvr.com ESMTP not accepting connections

Since the last TB ESR update to 128.8 I no longer can download emails properly. It does kick of email download when starting the app, but gets stuck when loading emails from a GMX account. It also does not delete emails from the server as configured to do, so next app start it downloads the same emails again.

Clicking the Get Messages button does nothing nor does clicking on any commands in the context menu of the Get Messages button. There is no status showing in the status bar at the bottom nor do I get an error. I tried it in troubleshooting mode with everything disabled and it still does not work.

I did clear startup cache, compacted mailboxes, and used web mail portals to lower the number of emails to download (I deleted all those emails I don't want anyway).

Used to work reliably well before update and also when scheduled. Troubleshooting Info is below.

Any help is greatly apperciated.

I have lots of filters to organize my copious incoming mail. Messages get moved into topical boxes. Recently I've noticed that a mailbox has unread messages in it and when I open it, I see the new messages for an instant and then they disappear. And another mailbox now has unread messages. So it seems that the filters run on the inbox when the mail is received and then they are run again (but a different set are applied) when I open the mailbox they got moved to by the first run. I see no settings in the Filters dialog that has anything to do with this behaviour. Why is this happening and how can I stop it?

BTW, most of my filters have Stop Execution as the last step. (Most only have a single Move to... action followed by Stop. And for performance reasons, all newly created filters should have Stop as an automatic 2nd step since most users wouldn't think to do this. )

I posted this before but have had no response whatsoever after several days. Maybe I posted it under the wrong thread, so am redoing it here. Apologies for repetition.

In the past week or so I have noticed that some emails disappear from one inbox on my Windows 10 PC. I have three Thunderbird accounts (call them A, B, and C), and the emails only disappear from box A. It seems completely random, and furthermore they only disappear on my own PC. My husband has an identical set-up on his Windows 10 PC, which also includes the boxes A, B, and C, and the messages do NOT disappear there. I can also see them on my iPhone and two iPads, and they do not disappear from those. I have tried forwarding them to myself from my phone, and while most of them did show up in the A inbox on my PC, I have noticed that some of them have now disappeared again.

This is incredibly frustrating, because I do most of my work at my PC. I thought I needed an update, but TB says I am up to date (128.8.0esr (32-bit)). It can't be anything to do with the server, because it is so specific: one inbox on one PC only. There doesn't seem to be any special pattern--some have attachments, some don't.

I also posted two updates under the original question (which had a title something like 'Random emails keep disappearing'), and the problem is still ongoing, making my life a bit difficult, as I am at the moment in contact with doctors, lawyers, and insurers, and I keep losing their emails on my main PC, which holds documents that I sometimes need to attach to replies.

I am very surprised no one has replied (apart from my own updates), as usually there is someone out there with good ideas.

Since the latest MacOS update to 15.3.2 I have had a consistent problem with Thunderbird. After the computer has been asleep for long periods (e.g., overnight), emails I want to send will not recognize the outgoing server. When I quit T-bird and restart the problem is gone. This is true for 5 email addresses on two servers - one of the servers is an @att.net address hosted on Yahoo. The problem doesn't happen after short periods of computer sleep. I'm on an M4 Macbook Pro.

I'm using 128.8.0esr (32-bit) Thunderbird on Windows 10. I've been using it for a very long time. Last night I was able to send and receive mail via Plusnet.

This morning I was getting the following message when I try to send:

Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Authentication required. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again."

I am the only user in this house. Nothing was changed during the night. I contacted the ISP, they checked all my account settings, none of which have been changed for a long time. All settings were as they expected. The ISP asked me to log into their web mail program and try sending mail. I was able to do this. At this point they ASSURED me that it is therefore a TBird problem.

I am a very experienced PC user. I am totally stuck for ideas.

My wife's Thunderbird account always asks for her password whenever she sends an email. She and I use 2 different computers, both with the same version of Thunderbird, which is the latest version, both with the same build and version of Windows 11, and both with the same outgoing server settings. Yet I never have the same issue when I send emails. Can someone please help us by explaining what my wife needs to do for Thunderbird to stop asking for her password?

My work uses a 3rd party URL "defense" program, so every link that comes to me via e-mail is sent to that "defense" 3rd party, instead of directly.

The Thunderbird "link mistmatch" then activates *every time* I have links at work.

Looking online there *used* to be:

 mail.phishing.detection.mismatched_hosts

but it does not work any more.

None of the "phishing" settings prevent the link mismatch from appearing. I could not find any other "mismatch" settings.

How can I avoid this horrible annoyance???

Situation: Thunderbird 128.8.0esr (64-bit) has been performing flawlessly. No problems until I received a security notification that my email account had been accessed by someone quite literately on the other side of the world. And, since I haven’t changed my password in quite a while, I thought, ‘why not go ahead and do it now.’ It seemed like a good idea; not so much.

Prior to changing my password on my GoDaddy outlook.office.365.com email account, I have had absolutely no difficulties in sending and receiving emails from the ‘GoDaddy’ email account nor my gmail email accounts.

After changing only my ‘GoDaddy’ email account password, on the GoDaddy/outlook.offic365 website, I started having negative issues with the ‘GoDaddy outlook.office365’ email account on Thunderbird.

Conditions: At this time I was, and still am, able to send and receive emails on gmail accounts. No difficulties here.

However, I am only able to send emails on the ‘GoDaddy outlook.office365’ email account. I can not ‘Get Messages’ or receive new messages.

I also receive the following ‘notification’: User authenticated but not connected.

I have spent over 18 hours on the phone both voice and text attempting to resolve this issue to no avail.

I was told to change my settings to:

- input: outlook.office365.com. port 993, SSL/TLS, Oauth2 - Output: smtp.office365.com, port 587, STARTTLS, Oauth2

...which I had already set prior to contacting ‘GoDaddy Email Support Team’. After all this I was finally told to “contact Thunderbird to resolve this issue.”

I want to point out, that when I login to the GoDaddy email website via Firefox, I have not issues receiving / sending emails. I also have no issues using the ‘Outlook’ app on my android phone.

In an attempt to possible get a better ‘view point’ on the issue. I closed Thunderbird. Opened up a fresh download of Thunderbird AppImage and opened it in a ‘sandbox’ and ‘setup’ the GoDaddy email account. I still could only send and email. I was unable to ‘Get Messages’.

I have reviewed everything I could find on this forum that even came close to this issue, and, basically nothing changed.

If there is anyone who can provide some guidance, it would be greatly appreciated.

I've set up my Thunderbird account to receive mail from Proton Mail, and it imported all the previous mail, but I'm not getting any new messages. I have checked the settings that I was told to input from Proton Mail Bridge and they are correct. I am receiving mail through Proton.me, but any messages since I initially set it up are not connecting to Thunderbird.

I tried to send a [too big] file to someone. So, I deleted the message from sent and draft, compacted folders both in Thunderbird and from gmail (permanently deleted the trash). I still get the message:

"Warning! You are about to send a message of size 29.6 MB. Are you sure you want to do this?"

every time I send anything from Thunderbird (and every time my laptop connects to a WiFi)

Thunderbird then also (ever time) gives me the two error messages:
