I've been having a number of problems with Thunderbird recently and I'm hoping that deleting and reinstalling the app might help. But I worry that I will lose emails by doing this. I'm also wondering if the numerous folders I've set up will disappear as well. The issues I've been having, by the way, are emails consistently going into the wrong folder and, most recently, constantly being asked for my passwords. (I have emails from four email addresses being downloaded by Thunderbird.) I've had the password issue in years past, but it always seemed to resolve itself.

As of a few days ago, popup boxes have been appearing where Thunderbird is asking for passwords for my email addresses (I access emails from four different addresses with Thunderbird). Sometimes I will get the same popup box for a specific email address appearing several times over a few minutes. I reinstalled Thunderbird hoping that would help, but, while the popups are less frequent, they are still happening.

Also, while I have Thunderbird set up to check for new emails every 10 minutes and to download them automatically, it is only downloading emails when I shut down the program and restart it. "Get New Message For:" does not work. I know that new emails are not being automatically downloaded as I see that there are new ones at the website of my ISP.

Most of the solutions I have seen are not current, and reference settings I cannot find in my version. I have tried deleting and reentering the passwords by clicking on Saved Passwords in settings, but that did not help. Any suggestions?

How do I install a PREVIOUS version of Firefox? I had version 149, and it auto updated on the 7'th. After that update, the problem began. The problem is, something in that update broke google maps as it's used on Realtor.com. It's impossible to drag the map with the mouse, I can zoom in or out with the scroll wheel, but then the area I want to look at is off the screen and I can't drag it back into view.

I downloaded version 149.0 and closed Firefox and tried to install it. BUT it starts, says it's checking space requirements and such, then the installer just stops... because version 149.0.2 is installed. I don't want to uninstall it because that'll wipe out all the settings I have and I'll have to redo every da*** thing from scratch.

I don't have time to wait weeks, months or years for enough people to report this bug and then developers fix the bug and roll out an update for it. I need to fix it now, tonight. And the only way I know to do that is to install the previous WORKING version of it.

Could someone please tell me how to force the installer to install version 149.0 WITHOUT having to uninstall version 149.0.2 and then having to redo every fricking thing...

The developers really should have a ROLLBACK utility in the Settings so that when something in an update breaks the functionality, all a user has to do is click the ROLLBACK button and boom, it reinstalls the previous version without having to jump through hoops to do it.

I do not have this problem in Chrome or any other browser, it's specific to Firefox. I do not like using Chrome or the other browsers I have. I much prefer to use Firefox. Someone please help with this, please!

I receive an email. When I reply it shows the correct outgoing email. But when the recipient replies back to me it shows sent from one of my other email accounts and his reply goes to that other email account.

I have tried to set up a table in Thunderbird but the column width is much too big.

How can I reduce the column width, please?

Everything is gone from the browser today. There is no content in the menu at the top right, except for keyboard shortcuts. When I type in the search bar, nothing happens, and clicking the + to open a new tab does nothing either. My account is still showing at the top, I am signed in and the profile looks fine. I can't "refresh" the browser from the menu, as that is not an option.

UPDATE: FIXED - Today, April 13 - everything is back - I guess Firefox fixed itself.

Thunderbird still syncs Gmail contacts even though I have no Gmail account in TB. I imported a Vcard into TB and deleted a couple contacts. Went back into Gmail contacts and had to restore them.

My Teams will not open on my pc laptop. It's tiny icon only flashes, I tried to sign in to microsoft and to the old skype but am told my passwords were compromised in 2024 and am sent to archive.org to change. I do not understand this archive site or what I am to do. Are their any interpreters for those who can't find direction? Thanks so much

Why when I try to print a web page does it show all values of drop down boxes since my latest update? This does not occur when using chrome. I will be switching to chrome if this is not resolved!

After today's update, March 25, 2026. I cannot print correctly. When printing from a page with drop down menu's, Firefox is printing every option on the menu. I have tried Refreshing Firefox, Clearing Saved Print Settings and rebooting. Anyone know how to fix this?

Moved all my email to brand new PC, all working except alicegimbird@hotmail.co.uk , it just keeps coming up " The current operation on Inbox did not succeed. The mail server for alicegimbird@hotmail.co.uk responded Command Error.12.

I just lost my bookmarks again, it happened a month or so ago as well. Appears to have been due to updates.

I have already followed the recommended ideas of navigating to restore, but there is no date given to restore to.

Just "choose a file comes" up, and that appears to lead nowhere.

I also went about:profiles , and all that was there was the current "cannot be deleted " profile and the option to make a new one, I tried that, it did not restore bookmarks. I need some of tose bookmarks quite badly this time

What more can I do ?

Hello I want to use my calendar and adressbook from different PCs which have access to a common network device like P: So I intend to locate and use Thunderbird calendar and adressbook on dedicated device P:. Is there a way to achieve that? Thanks lot Thomas

First of all I've noticed that even logging in to the account management page doesn't work with my vpn on. So of course sync itself doesn't either. It works perfectly fine with it off though. Is there an IP address that I can add to split tunneling to allow only the sync/FF account manager through my vpn? Or another way I'm not aware of? I'd rather not have to allow the whole browser through my vpn if possible.

Hello, I was attempting to send a message to 44 recipients and got the attached error message. I then created a mailing list and attempted sending both as To: and a CC:, and got the same error. My understanding from searching the issue is that Thunderbird has a maximum of 60 recipients allowed, and my provider, northmail.ca, has a maximum of 250 recipients allowed. I cannot figure out what the problem is, or what I am missing. Assistance would be appreciated. Thanks

An IRS form 4506-B PDF has to filled out and sent with adobe reader, if you use a browser it disables funtions in adobe acrobate reader that allow you to send the form. Thunderbird works find to send regular emails. It isnt working when I click on the "submit form" buttton at bottom of the 4506-B forms page. I ran Thunderbird in troubleshoot mode and turned off all AVG protection includeing VPN and it still wont work. I tried with my aol and gmail accounts.
