The address isn't valid problem when opening new tab
when opening firefox (i usually crash it to close under task-manager) it reloads all the tabs as it should. But when opening a new tab i get "The address isn't valid" i have tried all the option settings for start up blank homepage and last opened. i have tried all the suggestions in the other treads, reset..about:config i do wish there was a document giving detailed info for all those settings when in about:config and search newtab,,the only user setting(not defaut) is browser.newtabpage.storageVersion;1 and i have tried 0,1,2,3,4,5 no change even restarting in between. Have done re-intall, reset, safe mode, to no avail the tab operates normally after the error ,,i.e. i can start typing in address bar and even the auto complets works..i just restarted fz and it did an update to 27.0.1 that didnt fix it either.. i miss the fx default page that has recent thumbnails.

had to manualy put in about:newtab under browser.newtab but got tabs operating fine also the live links from tbird working and i didnt have to look up and reload the add-ons,,

I can live with the blank page for new tabs,, but the links not opening tabs will eat into my job search time mybe i should disable some extensions? cookie destruct,adblock,nosquint,fasterfox,
Try reinstalling Firefox. Do not uninstall first. What you'll do instead is sideline your existing Firefox program folder and leave your settings folders in place.
First download the full installer from this page (scroll down to your preferred language): https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/
Next exit out of Firefox, and rename the program folder from:
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
to
C:\Program Files\OldFirefox
If you later discover that some crucial plugins are missing, you could go back into that folder and copy them to the corresponding location in the new folder.
Now run the Firefox installer you downloaded.
When you start Firefox, it should pick up exactly where you left off. However, in the process the parts of the Windows registry relating to handling links in Thunderbird should be updated.

thank you about the question tools option by the way I dont have to crash fx anymore when closing and reopening. The restore session under history works again now reinstalling fx without removing first fixed a lot of little issues that i had just been putting up with
