FF crashed, I had to download a new copy in IE, I've lost years of bookmarks, where can I find the earliest copy of them?
I'm using Win XP Pro. I had to download a new copy of FF (ver 25.0.1) using IE since my last version had crashed, and in doing so, I lost a decade of bookmarks. I've tried everything in FF Help, with no success. I understand that FF saves up to 10 old copies of bookmarks - I need to know where to find them, so as to copy one into my current version. Thanks for any help offered.

First time this problem occurs, I think the truth is I can not find a friend... Sorry
A crash usually doesn't require to download and reinstall Firefox unless this happened when Firefox was trying to update (Firefox 25.0.1 had been released recently).
Did Firefox create a new profile or are you still using your previous default profile?

If Firefox has been reset then you have an "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop with your old personal data.
You can find bookmarks JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder in the Firefox profile folder.
It is possible to recover data from an old profile, but be cautious not to copy possibly corrupted files.
FF created a new profile for me, but I had saved an Old FF Data and I tried the data from that. Unfortunately, it wasn't old enough - the data I wanted wasn't in it. (I've been trying to repair this for 5 days now - I've got to the point where I'm repairing the repairs). Thanks for the suggestions - I'll try them.
