ok, here are the snapshots i do the plugin status, then i click on quick time which takes me to the next snapshot and i have no idea what to do; finally when i clicked on the java download i got the java download screen but when i click on download it just keeps taking me around the same screens and circles again. thank you for helping

THANK YOU...NOW I HATE TO TELL YA, I DO NOT SEE JAVA WHERE IT SAID TO GO AND I DID DO AN UPDATE OF FIREFOX BUT THE QUICKTIME STILL APPEARS IN THE PLUGINS AS NEEDING TO BE UPDATED AND YES I RESTARTED THE COMPUTER AFTER THE UPDATE. i found the java in my downloads folder and it is complete on the install but still keeps appearing when i go to plugins as not being uptodate

did the system java test to see if it was working and it is. then in the quick time info it refers to APPLE SUPPORT in blue letters and i clicked on it and found the download and it is doing so now. I THINK I'M GOOD ON THE ISSUE AND APPRECIATE YOUR HELP AND DIRECTIONS. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!

For java you may have to close Firefox then open it again.

And all of them you may need at some point, the only time i reccomend disabling a plugin is if it causes a problem that makes your system or firefox crash.

Thank you. Also I shutdown computer and restarted and did the check for plug-ins and it is still showing java and QT as out of date and vunerable. what do you suggest?

also the only reason i got into all of this in the first place is my computer has the multi color spinner and locks up on me until it decides to start working and someone suggested i check my plugins. i have a new harddrive that when the computer is working it is fast and great. i replaced the harddrive because of the spinner wheel and lock ups but obviously it hasn't helped. do i need to take the mac to the apple store?

btw, i have the spinner thing in both firefox and safari.

You can also try to dust out your computer (every 3 months) to have optimal peformance.
