I have lost use of the Firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs. This is usually caused by a recently opened web page. Clicking the Restore Tab should open restored pages, but tho showing available, clicking it, it then just greys out after the rotating blue wheel

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_crashes and Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly)

If you have submitted Breakpad crash reports then post the IDs of one or more Breakpad crash reports (bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx).
You can find the IDs of the submitted crash reports on the about:crashes page.
You can open the about:crashes page via the location bar, just like you open a website.

See: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Breakpad (Mozilla Crash Reporter) and [[Mozilla Crash Reporter|Mozilla Crash Reporter:Breakpad]]

I have tried to follow the above instructions but i dont find it takes me anywhere useful to help me resolve this problem.

ie doesnt tell me what to collect and who to submit it too. All the different URL links just take me to information pages that i find confusing and unhelpful.

ISSUE: todate every time i restart my computer a new Firefox page used to open, complete with a session restore tab...... which used to work (of previous sites left open when i closed my computer) that no longer happens. Session Restore tab is now blank - nothing remembered.

About:crashes says - the last reported crash was bp-d4d6f3d9-5fb5-49be-86f3-1c1a92100816 16/08/2010 22:58

I have tried system restore with no change. I have gone to click and download the latest version of Firefox, but no change.

What do i need to do with the about:crash information? How does the above post help me?

ID: d4d6f3d9-5fb5-49be-86f3-1c1a92100816 Firefox 3.6.8 Crash Report [@ hang | Signature: hang | mozilla::plugins::PPluginInstanceParent::CallNPP_SetWindow(mozilla::plugins::NPRemoteWindow const&)

P.S.

foregot to mention, i have not lost my Cnt+H (history files)

P.S.

for some reason i am unable to load any images of the Session Restore file. There is no "preview post" option here

At the moment there seem to be problems with attaching images, so you will have to use an external hosting service like <ImageShack® - Hosting> and post a link to that image.

Your crash report indicates a problem with a plugin (Flash?).
You can try to disable the plugin-container process (Out-Of-Process-Plugins) to see if that helps.

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Plugin-container_and_out-of-process_plugins

Many thanks

i have used http://www.filehippo.com/updatechecker updated everything that needs running. re-deleted and reloaded Firefox....

and all now appears resolved - all my tabs of previously left open pages when i shutdown, spring back in to life, across the firefox page, when i start back up = the desired end result
