How do I get rid of the Heur:trojan-Downloader.script.generic virus?

more options

I use Zone Alarm Extreme Security to scan for viruses, etc. I just upgraded to the latest version on my Windows 8.1 PC. Almost every scan has found the Heur:trojan-Downloader.script.generic virus in the same place. The path is as follows:

C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\56zaeue3.default\extensions\staged\{b54cc223-b03f-4f2f-8cab-347ec67ab3fe}\bootstrap.js

ZA keeps treating the virus, but I want to get rid of it all together. I haven't been able to delete it because it is not visible in the folder location listed in the path. I've turned on view system/invisible files, but it is not visible. ZA tech support suggests reinstalling Firefox to see if that solves the problem, and if not, then a complete uninstall then reinstall of ZA.

I'm wondering if I can just delete the "staged" folder to get rid of the virus... The only extension I have added to Firefox is AdBlocker Ultimate, and I did that after the virus started showing up.

Has anyone else had this virus problem and if so, how did you solve it?

Do Not Delete Anything!

What I suggest is

1) create a system restore point and or a backup. 2) uninstall that anti-virus and install a different one. Then compare notes. 3) Since you are using Win8, before installing another anti-virus, run Microsoft AV first.
