I would like to know why firefox no longer respects the preference choice of the users, for more than 3 months I have always configured my searches for google inside the browser, but every time I closed or even reset the firefox search again in yahoo or such a chill ... I know it what ... just one question, are you making money, being sponsored by these two search engines to be boycotting the users' preference? This is getting annoying not to say ridiculous ... take some kind of attitude and respect our preferences! I like the functions of firefox, but this way I will have to use another as a default browser, as well as speak very poorly of this type of disrespect! I await a return with a position.

hi, firefox will not change your search preferences. if something like this is happening it's likely you have some adware on your system responsible for that - go through your installed addons and remove them if you find anything suspicious listed there: Disable or remove Add-ons

...or else scan your system for adware with a tool like "malwarebytes for mac".

google is the default search engine in firefox since november 2017 and there is a revenue sharing agreement between google and the browser.

yahoo was the default search provider in the US for a couple of years before that. yahoo is currently suing mozilla, so rest assured that there is no interest whatsoever in having it set as your search engine in firefox: https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2017/12/05/mozilla-files-cross-complaint-against-yahoo-holdings-and-oath/
