a SWAG: If you are trying to Print a highlighted passage of text try using the keyboard command for "Print" = Ctrl + P

After you select text and press Ctrl+p, one of the available options in the Print dialog -- under Print range -- will be Selection.

The results aren't always pretty, but it's worth a try.
