video downloader icon does not show up unless I restart firefox

When I first load a Youtube video, the downloader icon shows up. After downloading, when I load the next video, the icon is missing. Sometimes refreshing the page works and at other times it doesn't refresh. I then have to restart Firefox browser. How can I have the video downloader icon show up each time, or where can I find it if it's hidden? Thanks Linda
