I installed windows 8 and can't find all my bookmarks etc. I tried reset but it didn't help. How can I restore my old info?
I tried to find the database files from my old firefox on explorer 7 but any old files I tried came up as can not open or not found. I tried the suggestions from mozilla help about what files contain the info but got the same results. I did reset but all it did was give me the few new things I've done since installing windows 8.

hello, did you install windows 8 on top of another operating system on a single machine and do you have any form of prior backup available? one thing you could try is to search the whole filesystem (make sure you include all locations, also hidden ones) for the term bookmarks*.json - if any results show up with a date in their filename that lies before the windows install, you can then likely import them into your current firefox profile.
