First, update your Firefox to Firefox 12. Then, you can try to start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to see if an extension or something else is interfering with the normal operation of Firefox. If it work sin Safe mode, then disable your extensions on by one until your find the culprit.
The "Don't load tabs until selected" option will be grayed out until you select "show my windows and tabs from last time" from the dropdown menu above.
This is the solution. Verdi got it right. Step by step from the FireFox menus: Select the Tools menu and then "Options." In the "General" tab look under Start Up. Change "When FireFox starts" to Show my windows and tabs from last time" Uncheck "Don't load tabs until selected" Change "When FireFox starts" to use your home pages, or whichever choice you wish. That should fix the problem. Thank you Verdi.
See Verdi's solution. Don't go through all this troubleshooting unless Verdi's solution doesn't work. You might want to restart Firefox after making Verdi's simple change in the FireFox options.
