I changed my Thunderbird password on one comp. and can't get mail on my main computer because the "NEXT" link on the "Enter Credentials" window is dead. I did find instructions to delete current passwords from Thunderbird through: Tools > Options > Security > Saved Passwords > Remove Al. But after rebooting and starting Thunderbird, it still opens the "Enter Credentials" window that is lifeless and will not react to selecting "Next" Note: the passwords are no longer in the "Saved Passwords" box.

As a close-to-last-resort, I simply updated Thunderbird and it now works just fine.

What version of Thunderbird?

I'm sure you would have suggested updating my TBird which is what I have done as a last (WHAT-THE-HELL) resort. And that did the trick. The new version allowed the password to be changed through the TBird options. Thanks; your anticipated suggestion worked.
