How can I change most of my Bookmark icons, they are all grey ?

To be honest I have recently built a new PC and the problem I describe transferred from my 10 year old PC Most of my Firefox Quantum 59.0.2 (64-bit) Bookmark icons are grey round circles (all the same). So my question is exactly what is causing this to happen and how can I fix this please, it's driving me nuts !!!!!

Can the cause be a Computer Virus ? (I have always relied upon Kaspersky Internet Security 2018) with daily updates. Or perhaps some form of Malware not picked up by my Antivirus scanner.

For the remaining empty ones, you can simply visit the bookmark and the favicon will re-generate immediately.

If you exported your bookmarks into a .json file, try exporting to an HTML file and importing it through Firefox itself if you haven't.

Thank you Moses you have partially provided a fix for this annoying icon issue. I did as you suggested and imported my bookmarks from a Bookmarks HTML file. (I think that I let Firefox sync all my original Bookmarks to my new PC)
