Ebay search results (links) open in new tab instead of same tab

I use a home brew desktop w/ Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. About 3 days ago, my searching process using Firefox on ebay changed for the worse. Previously, my search results from ebay gave me a page of links for the most recent additions to my search query and when I clicked one of those links, it would open in the SAME TAB, and then when I hit the BACK button (using mouse or keybrd), I would go back to the search results, all in the same tab. NOW, as of 3 or 4 days ago, whenever I (left) click on any ebay search results/links, the link opens in a NEW TAB automatically. Frustrating as I now have hundreds of tabs opened unless I close each one after viewing the item and very time consuming. Is there a fix for this?

Is there some ebay script causing these links to open in new tabs this way instead of the

default method of Firefox to open new links in the SAME TAB unless using a right click command to do otherwise? I did try the Firefox run in safe mode method but everything was the same in safe mode ...... search result links STILL opened in a new tab.

You can force Firefox to open a link that specifies a target to open in the same tab.

For links opened via JavaScript you can look at this pref:

You can also check whether eBay has a setting in its options when you are logged in to set the default behavior.

I couldn't find any setting in eBay causing this "NEW TAB" opening reversal process and the other instructions regarding this location opening (links for Mozillazine) are not understandable to me. i am not very tech savvy so was lost there. Please Help. My mouse clicker is wearing out.

Problem has been resolved. Apparently I had overloaded the memory of the Firefox cache causing it to react other than normal, meaning it opened all my ebay search links in new tabs instead of the current tab, which is the standard practice of Firefox, unless directed to do otherwise (open in a new tab or a new window); (these ebay search links are sent to me daily via my Outlook email service). So today I decided to manually clear my browsing history (I cleared cache, downloads, cookies, and web site data) which I have learned speeds everything up in Firefox. So after I did this all was back to normal, meaning that now when I click a search link it DOES open in the same tab as intended. In the future I plan to do the above CLEARING process about every 2-3 weeks so the cache will not be so full that it acts up like this again.
