A request to disable the Desktop Window Manager was made by process (Firefox)

I am using Firefox 44.0.1.

Since updating to this version I find my computer intermittently switches to Windows 7 Basic Colour mode. I have to log off and log back on to make it work properly.

The Windows event log shows this message.

"A request to disable the Desktop Window Manager was made by process (Firefox)"

Why is Firefox forcing my computer in to basic colour (ugly) mode? More importantly, how can I make it stop? My graphics adaptor is AMD Radeon HD 7000 series. I have tried to update the driver, but it says it is up to date.

I have found a way to restart Aero without having to log off and log back on again.

Run a command prompt

net stop uxsms net start uxsms

But I would still like to stop Firefox from switching it off.
