I have noticed that about 1/3 of my book marks have duplicated themselves, I would like to get rid of the duplicates; but don't want to get rid of anything I might need. I thought maybe I could do it in xmarks?

Sorry, but Xmarks has been reported to cause duplicate bookmarks.

Currently I see two add-ons with that feature.
