If I want to reset my master password and doing so removes all users names and passwords presumably this applies to ONLY FIREFOX/ MODZILLA??? and not other browsers?

Yes, that applies only to Firefox.

You can achieve the same effect by deleting the files key3.db and signons.sqlite in the Firefox Profile Folder
