Try temporarily disabling JavaScript. In the Tools menu select Option, then go to the Content panel in the Options window and de-select the setting "Enable JavaScript". Close the Options window and then try to close the tab. You can then re-enable JavaScript.
Other things that need attention:
Your above posted More system details list shows two Flash plugins, one a very old Flash 5.0 r41 the you should remove.
- Shockwave Flash 10.1 r85
- Shockwave Flash 5.0 r41
You can find the old Flash plugin file NPSWF32.DLL in the plugins folder within the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins\) and remove that file. Also remove the flashplayer.xpt file in the components folder.

You can create a bookmark and paste the code in the location field of that bookmark to have easy access.

Thank you for the additional instruction. I did place the code provided into the URL of a bookmark. However, once on the page cited above, when I select the bookmark created which contains the code provided, nothing changes. The pirate page is still active and I am unable to escape it. I am still unable to escape the pirate page except by force quitting Firefox.
