For this reason, I would like to share an important feature request regarding Firefox for Android. I kindly request that Firefox for Android allow full support for RSS reader extensions such as Feedbro, Inoreader, Feeder, and similar add-ons. Currently, the Android version only supports a limited set of extensions, which prevents users from installing powerful RSS readers. However, many users rely on RSS feeds for a personal, privacy-friendly news experience. RSS offers an open, independent alternative to algorithmic and commercially driven news feeds. Enabling broader RSS extension support would provide several benefits: A customizable and privacy-focused news experience The freedom to choose any RSS reader An open-source alternative to built-in news feeds provided by browsers like Brave Enhanced flexibility without compromising security Additionally, this feature could remain disabled by default, ensuring that users who do not wish to use RSS are not affected. This approach aligns perfectly with Firefox’s privacy principles, as RSS does not involve Google-style algorithms, advertising networks, personal tracking, or recommendation engines. Only users who intentionally enable the feature would benefit from a more private and personalized news experience. Allowing popular RSS extensions to run on Firefox Android would make the mobile browser significantly more powerful, flexible, and appealing to many users. Thank you for considering this request.
