when i click 'get messages' the bottom bar says [e.g.] downloading 9 messages, but only 6 show up in my inbox. i looked in all the other folders and they don't show any new stuff. i use TB on 3 different popmail accounts and this started happening ~ a month ago on all 3.

I have that issue on and off. I close Thunderbird, and reopen it, then click get new mail and the missing ones usually pop up. Some end up in trash, because they are usually spam ones. I don't know what causes it.
