I want to set up my mail so that what i do in thunderbird also happens in the online account eg yahoo/gmail using imap

I i delete or or create sub folder and move a mail from inbox to the sub folder it must also do it in the online email account.

I have set it up as imap but I think i have the settings wrong as it is not working and not showing all the info form the mail account. only the inbox but no subfolders

Please post your Troubleshooting Information. At the top right of the Thunderbird window, click the menu button , then select Help > Troubleshooting Information. Press the "Copy text to clipboard button" and paste the information into your reply.
