I click onto Thunderbird to get into my e-mail and the screen automatically goes to a screen for updates or something. And I can't get out of it. Why does this happen?? I am new at all this and all I want is to get into my mail. Please HELP! I can't get into my mail at all, so don't send me any information there.

Start Windows in safe mode. Delete the directory Mozilla Thunderbird in %ProgramFiles(x86)% Restart Windows Redownload and reinstall Thunderbird from http://getthunderbird.com/
