My symptoms:
Basically after a Firefox update, firefox has stopped working for me. It started with Firefox not being able to "CMD+q" to quit. Next, it would freeze when trying to clear history. Now, I can't even open a new tab. I really like Firefox, but this is literally unusable in the current state.

To add even more detail:
I cannot do anything with Firefox now. I tried typing 'about:crashes' in my URL bar and it crashes in mid typing. I have opened the browser in SafeMode but still the behavior continues.
I found a workaround:
- Drag 'Firefox.app' (v42.0) to trash
- Download and install Firefox 41.0.2 from previous versions page Previous Versions
- Open up Firefox profile info folder (was in '~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles) I opened the folder with '.default' (was the only folder for me)
- I then deleted everything except the files: 'key3.db' and 'logins.json'
- Opened Firefox from Applications folder
Is everything working now? If so, That was very good work. Well Done. Please flag your last post as Solved Problem so others will know.
