Can AVG LinkScanner work with Firefox

I have installed AVG LinkScanner on my Win7.64 system, but it doesn't work in Firefox 3.6, though it does more or less work in IE8. I have tried turning off all my (numerous) FF add-ons, but no difference.

1. Is it possible to install LS with Firefox 2. Is the FF phishing and malware protection built in to FF as good as that provided by LS?
