I've looked at more than one similar question, but no answer has been provided yet. Is there a way to open my last session if it didn't do it automatically and the option is grayed out in the menu mar?

This is the first time it hasn't automatically opened in my previous session, and all of the defaults are still set so that it should do that, so I don't know why it isn't. The only thing different this time is that usually I just hibernate the computer, but last night I had to shut it down (for power purposes) - as far as I know, no new updates for anything were installed, but that's the only slightly different factor I can think of.

Apparently, this has happened to other users enough that I guess it might be a bug, but that doesn't really help me open up the 120 or so tabs I had in the groups of my last session. So, if anybody knows of a way to open those back up, I'd really appreciate the help. (I am going through my recent history, which is showing up in the menu, but that's going to take quite a while. Just thankful it's still there.)

Thanks in advance

Please answer the following questions:

  • Was that a normal shutdown?
  • What was the condition of Firefox browser when you were shutting down?
  • Have you tried restarting browser and pc?

You can try to restore a previous version of the sessionstore.js file.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

Yes; everything was normal during shutdown (there weren't any forced closings or anything). Restarting the computer didn't seem to accomplish anything either. Thanks for trying though!

Cor-el: where do you right click to get the properties menu, in the Firefox folder in Windows itself? Because no previous versions seem to be showing up for me. ("There are no previous versions available")

I know it's not the end of the world, but I do quite a bit of research, and I'd like to be confident that it will still be there if I have to close the program and reopen it. (Or, at the very least, if they DO get lost, that they are recoverable.)

You need to right-click the file in Windows Explorer or another file manager and open the Properties of the file.
