In Firefox 4 you no longer have the Status bar that showed the padlock (hangslot) in previous Firefox versions.
You can click the "Site Identity Button" on the left end of the location bar to see the padlock.

A click on the "More Information" button will show additonal details about the connection.
The background color of the "Site Identity Button" on the left end of the location bar will change color (blue or green) and show the domain in case of a secure https connection.

• Hover the Site Identity Button then to see "Verified by xxxx"
• Click the How do I tell if my connection to a website is secure? on the left end of the location bar to see the padlock
• Click the "More Information" button in that pop-up to see additional information about the connection.

In Dutch (Nederlands):

In Firefox 4 is geen statusbalk met een hangslot meer aanwezig, zoals in eerdere versies van Firefox. U kunt op de “Website-identiteitsknop” aan de linkerkant van de locatiebalk klikken om het hangslot te zien.

Als u op de knop “Meer informatie” klikt, ziet u extra details over de verbinding. De achtergrondkleur van de “Website-identiteitsknop” aan de linkerkant van de locatiebalk zal van kleur veranderen (blauw of groen) en in het geval van een beveiligde https-verbinding het domein tonen.

• Beweeg de muis over de website-identiteitsknop om “Geverifieerd door xxxx” te zien
• Klik op de website-identiteitsknop aan de linkerkant van de locatiebalk om het hangslot te zien
• Klik op de knop “Meer informatie” in de pop-upmelding om extra informatie over de verbinding te zien.
