All option settings are gone upon opening ver 45.0.1

I set the options for display and other functions) in Thunderbird 45.1.0 and they stay for a few days, then on the next opening they are gone and the views and search engine, etc are reset to default. What's up? Running win 10 pro

you mean in tools | option?

are you running anything on your system to clean up temp files, like ccleaner?

Yes, options under the tools menu Have CCleaner64 installed but haven't run it in a couple of weeks - before the problem started. Is there something hiding in temp files from last upgrade?
