I want to click on a link in the same tab
I am window shopping on Amazon and every item I click on opens a new tab. This is annoying. How do I stop that?

Amazon may be using code to open a new window for these links and Firefox redirects this to a new tab.
See:
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.link.open_newwindow
- 1: current tab; 2:new window; 3:new tab;
For links opened via JavaScript you can look at this pref:
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
The problem is not coming from Amazon. I currently have Safari, Chrome, and now Firefox. This is the only browser that opens a new tab everytime I click on an item. I have given Mac a respectful 2-year run but I just don't like it. I am returning to Windows. But I DO like Safari browser and since it is not available for PCs I am trying others before I make the move. I used to be a dedicated Chrome user but after using Safari Chrome is not for me anymore. Firefox was the forerunner until I found this hitch. I don't need 46 tabs open when I hang out in Amazon
