Used the side

http://www.m64.info/index.php/thunderbird-64-bit-download

to download x64 bits thunderbird for my vista x64 ultimate Greek sp2 and the installation claims i don't have vista x64!? Does someone know how this problem can be solved?

I even used the side

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/nightly/2015-08-27-03-02-11-comm-esr38/

the result is the same the installation claims i don't have vista x64 and in the image i did upload you see i have genuine vista ultimate x64 sp2 Greek.

Just because your computer is 64bit, you do not have to use a Thunderbird 64 bit.

Suggest you download the current released version 38.2.0 for your preferred language from the official website: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/all/

It should auto install it in Program files (x86) which is used for all 32bit programs.

I did compiled 40.0b9 nigtly in linux debian 8.1 using a virtual machine as you see in here:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1076723

John99 made some suggestion to me in private and i decited to follow but before i thought to give a try for x64 bits for me is nothing to install solaris that is 128 bits and try to make 128 bits compilation i have to change a lot of code to be done but in the end i may do it.

The solaris that oracle alow to download is not an x128 bits versiion is x64 i tried to install it in virtual machine as you see in the image and i stoped what the fuck t d with x64 os that dosne't support my language i'm waiting a reply from oracle about this.

This site is just posting random builds from the Nightly (Daily for Thunderbird) development channel. You can tell by the a1 on end of version. They are not close to being Releases.

There is no Win64 for Thunderbird Releases yet however there is a good chance of Win64 for Firefox 41.0 Release.

yes but all these dosent't change the fact th nstallation of thunderbird x64 dosent recognize my vista x64 ultimate and recoments to have vista x64 and above is a bit funny.

I hopping to get a reply from some of the developers.

The Win64 Firefox builds requires 64-bit Windows 7, 8.x and 10 as the 64-bit Windows XP, Vista and servers cannot run Win64 Firefox builds from Fx 37.0+ on.

Not really paying attention to requirements with the Win64 Thunderbird builds but this could explain why you cannot run Win64 builds on 64-bit Vista perhaps? as the two tends to share a lot of code or changes.

I do not understand why they trying to force me upgrade my os as it is working much better from any other users i see.

Mean while i have only bad knews for linux users lets start with the bad knews first the x128bits in unix is not something new you can see the x128 bits versions of UNIX in the link:

http://www-01.ibm.com/software/network/directory/server/support/efixes.html#sun128

so i don't understand why Oracle released an os with 128 bits only in the filesystem and not copletelly!? but if we have some 'lamers' that are making posts like this

https://blogs.oracle.com/bonwick/entry/128_bit_storage_are_you

"we dn't need 128 bits filesystem" and the most users learned to get everything automatic how the 128 bits OS to go forward? and i don't understand why olracle released an os without a support in greek language i'm waiting official reply from oracle about that.

No one is trying to force you to do anything. Your the one running alpha grade compiles and complaining they do not work. The 32bit windows executable will work fine on X64windows and that also works fine on Vista.

This forum is to support Thunderbird release builds. As there is no 64bit release version, nor any appreciable efforts being made to release one in the near future, this thread as off topic.

If you want to discuss development issues, I suggest you have a look at the Thunderbird development group. See https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/mozilla.dev.apps.thunderbird

If you have identified a bug file it in Bugzilla https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/
