I want Firefox to mark my emails as read when I open them. It used to do this, but no longer. In Tools>>Options>>Advanced there is no Reading and Display tab, so there is no Automatically mark messages as read Immediately on display. How can I get this function back?

Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser. Sorry, but your problem isn't with Firefox.

If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.

If your problem is with Mozilla Thunderbird, please Tag this thread as being for Thunderbird in the right-hand column of this page. This question currently is in the Firefox queue for answers.

Sorry, edmeister, but Firefox used to do this until I upgraded to the latest version. Now, as I said, I can't follow the directions given in another post describing how to solve this problem. The only thing that has changed on my computer and my email is Firefox. I'm seriously thinking of going back to my older version of Firefox; this new version has caused nothing but trouble.

Firefox will do this manually, but I don't want to have to go through that every time I read an email. If it will do it manually, it ought to be able to do it automatically.
