hi, I am still getting my Gmail through IMAP, but I have been used to downloading them via POP3 the recent years. Is this no longer possible? I am geeting password errors since this week.

Why do I want to use POP3? It is downloading all emails since my last session into a dedicated folder on my server, so that I can store them locally. With IMAP I have to browse through the emails manually and copy them over to my local folder. This is tiresome because I have to check, which emails are missing on my local copy since my last download.

Thanks a lot.

You simply need to change Authentication Method to OAuth2 from Normal Password. See Automatic Conversion of Google mail accounts to OAuth 2.0 Authentication and https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1375538
