I set up a sync account on my XP desktop because I wanted to transfer my bookmarks to my new Windows 10 laptop. When I went to sign into Sync on the laptop, it said my password was incorrect. I verified my password and tried a number of times with the same result. This is the only way I know of transferring bookmarks to a Windows 10 machine.

Hi ktwohig , If you still have access to the old computer you are in luck. However if you do not and you changed the password, the data can no longer be accessed because it was encrypted with the previous password. Another option is: Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer

Your suggestion allowed me to transfer my bookmarks. I still cannot log into Sync on my Windows 10 laptop because it still does not recognize my password. So the two computers will not automatically stay in sync.

Are you sure you used the same email address on both computers?
