My husband forwarded his email to his cell phone and now his home computer email doesn't work. Can you take off the forwarding?

My husband had multiple e-mail accounts on Thunderbird. He tried to forward all of them to 1 email and then forward that email to his cell phone, so he could check all his e-mails on his cellphone. He has passed away, and there was an issue with passwords. I don't know any of the passwords, so I can't troubleshoot the problem from here.

Can you disable the forwarding and passwords so that it works like it should from his home computer? I need to be able to send and receive e-mails on his computer.

Thank you very much.

Commiserations on your loss.

Unfortunately, Thunderbird is just an email program. No-one here or at Mozilla has sight of or control over the email accounts. You really need to talk to the various bodies who provide the email accounts in question.

Usually, the part of the email address after the @ tells you who provides it.

If you can persuade them that you have justification for accessing your husband's accounts, they should be able to offer to let you re-set the passwords and use the accounts yourself. Like many issues around bereavement, this may involve painful processes such as forwarding copies of the relevant certificate. I wish you luck.
